Poppy - Papaver somniferum ”Hen and Chickens"

Single Poppy in a dull purple shade, which is mostly grown for its decorative and unique seed capsule.

Poppy can be directly sown when the soil has warmed up.

Can also be sown in the fall for earlier flowering the following year. Self-sows easily.

The flowers are picked during the bud stage, the seed capsule is nice to dry and use in arrangements and bouquets.
