Strawflower - Helichrysum bracteatum "King Size Red"

The "King size" series has similar flowers to other Strawflowers, but is said to have more flowers on each stem than others.

Lovely Strawflower in dark reddish-brown tones. Perfect for cutting both fresh and dried. Also useful as dried in autumn bouquets and wreaths.
Sow indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost and harden off before planting out. Place in a bright and cool place after germination.
Light germination.

Pinching encourages branching.
Harvest to dry by harvest just before they open, they open further when drying. Strip the stems and hang in a dark, dry place.

May need to be supported so they can withstand rain and wind.
